First Afghan war: India 1840, one of the earliest recorded entire posted from Buckker to Aberdeen in Scotland via Falmouth addressed to Alexander Gibbon with “BUCKKER Paid” October 14th HG1 in red with 12 Anna’s postage paid up to Bombay along with oval India and other delivery marks. Gibbon was serving as a surgeon for the 65th Regiment of the Bengal Native Infantry in India, Burma, and China.
